Provide Environmental Awareness

Instituto Araguaia’s Environmental Center’s objective is to complement the formal education of local underprivileged children by providing environmental awareness and access to technology.

In addition, interactive displays, books and DVDs will foment discussions on local and global main environmental topics.

The Environmental Education Center hosts students after school hours to provide play activities and informal talks on up-to-date environmental themes. In the Center local schoolchildren engage in a series of fun activities that provide exciting and entertaining opportunities to convey an ecological message, thus contributing to the local community’s environmental awareness and education.

Other than students, we also seek partnership with groups, companies and enterprises created to provide adult training on commercial activities. In our case, focus is on training local ecotourism guides, tourism entrepreneurs, artisans, and other environmentally sustainable activities.
